"Where does the data live?"
In Beacon mode: nowhere outside your LAN. Polling stays local, alerts go through your SMTP. In Pro mode: PostgreSQL hosted in the EU (Germany, AWS Frankfurt), encrypted at rest, DPA available.
"Is it safe on my PC?"
Runs as a Windows Service under LocalService (least privilege). Authenticode-signed MSI. Cloud token encrypted with DPAPI. Firewall: SNMP outbound only. No open ports.
"How long does install take?"
Under 10 minutes for a 5-copier office. Download the MSI, double-click, enter IPs (or let auto-discovery run), done. No reboot. No .NET, no Java, nothing extra.

Frequently asked questions
Which operating systems are supported?
Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2019 / 2022 (x64). The agent runs as a native Windows Service. Linux and macOS are roadmapped for Q4 2026.
Which copiers are supported?
Toshiba e-Studio, HP LaserJet/PageWide, Canon imageRUNNER, Xerox VersaLink/AltaLink, Konica Minolta bizhub, Ricoh MP/IM. For any copier with working SNMP v1/v2c/v3, generic SNMP mode extracts standard counters (RFC 3805 Printer MIB).
Do I need to open firewall ports?
Not on the server/client side. The only outbound traffic is UDP/161 (SNMP) to your copiers and HTTPS/443 to the cloud (Pro only). No inbound ports. No listener.
Can I switch from Beacon to Pro without reinstalling?
Yes. Change <code>mode = "pro"</code> in config.toml, paste your cloud token at the config prompt, and results start flowing to the dashboard. Historical data stays in the local journal.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Full export on request (CSV + JSON). Guaranteed deletion within 30 days per GDPR. Beacon mode never sends anything to the cloud, so there is nothing to delete.
Is there a fully offline mode?
Yes. Beacon Free mode can run fully air-gapped. Alerts go through your internal SMTP. The only traffic is SNMP to your copiers.
Does it integrate with our billing system?
On Pro: token-authenticated REST API plus configurable webhooks. Monthly CSV/JSON snapshot importable directly into Smart Bill, Saga, FGO, or any ERP.
